Flying Air Emirates was absolute luxury...great leg room, fine cuisine, clean washrooms, and cameras on the plane to watch the flight from the different views. The two-story Airbus 380 is an amazing plane and handles beautifully. I am not sure Dubai is acclimatizing us for India. The Airport was like a five-star hotel with high ceilings, marble pillars, and very few people...much different than Pearson. The customs man was a little curt and it took a long time for the iris scan to work for me...he kept saying bigger and bigger and at one point I was standing with my mouth wide open...he is probably still laughing with his friends. I then proceded to flash the white-robed security guy when I lifted my top while asking if I had to remove my money belt - that sent him into quite a fluster. At that point I was sort of just waved through!
As we descending, we were welcomed by a unique sunset over the Iranian desert. The colours were like none I had seen before, with the billiant sun setting over the wide expanse of orangy-brown desert. We felt that this welcome to the Middle East bodes well for our trip.
After checking in, we ventured out to find food and discovered an small, outdoor street cafe. Although we struggled to communicate, we ended up with a delicious meal. Thanks to Jasyites' Indian food at home, I had a good idea of what to order.
